Russ Robinson, CPA/CFF, CVA, is a manager at Coker. His background includes a focus on fair market value analyses for compensation arrangements that may have Stark and/or Anti-Kickback implications. He is experienced in both fair market value and commercial reasonableness assessments for hospital systems employing and/or contracting with physicians and physician groups. Additional compensation valuation experience includes quality incentive services, management services, key opinion leader (speaking) services, royalty payments, and real estate analyses for assisted living facilities as well as urgent care practices partnering with retail stores. He has also prepared and/or reviewed healthcare-specific business valuation assessments for private medical practices, assisted on healthcare-specific bankruptcy/restructuring engagements, and prepared and/or reviewed expert reports for multiple litigation support engagements.

Mr. Robinson’s background outside of healthcare includes auditing/accounting, forensic investigations, business valuation, economic damage analyses, bankruptcy support services, and financial analysis.



  • Provided valuation and financial advisory services to healthcare organizations, primarily related to pre- and post-transaction due diligence and regulatory compliance with the Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse laws (Anti-Kickback Statute), and Physician Self-Referral Regulation (Stark Law).
  • Performed analyses related to physician compensation fair market value assessments, including but not limited to valuations of clinical, call coverage and medical directorship services using the market and cost approaches.
  • Prepared business valuation assessments for private medical practices, primarily utilizing the income approach (discounted cash flow method) and the market approach (completed transactions method and guideline public company method).
  • Provided litigation support services related to forensic investigations, valuations, and economic damages.
