Rob Mendoza is a senior manager at Coker Group with over 13 years of experience in healthcare compliance. He partners with hospitals, physician groups, and other healthcare clients to develop, evaluate, and operationalize their compliance programs according to Office of Inspector General (OIG) guidelines. Additionally, Rob can provide virtual or interim compliance officer and advisory services for a myriad of compliance-related matters. He is solutions-oriented with a demonstrated history of success at implementing, managing, and advising on all aspects of healthcare compliance programs. Rob has a passion for helping protect and advance the mission of healthcare organizations. His approach is supported by his direct experience with corporate integrity agreements and his advanced knowledge of the OIG’s Seven Elements of an Effective Compliance Program.

 

Experience

  • Successfully assisted with ensuring compliance with and the eventual release from a five-year Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) with the OIG while in the role of Associate Compliance Officer for a 280-bed regional referral center.
  • Led the implementation of ongoing compliance education, the compliance incident reporting system, and the compliance risk assessment process while serving as Compliance Department Director for the third-largest nonprofit health system in the nation.
  • Assisted with conducting numerous compliance program effectiveness assessments for multiple healthcare clients of various sizes and complexities across the United States.
  • Successfully managed an exclusion screening service for 15 hospital clients providing monthly screenings of employees, vendors, contractors, and physicians against the OIG, General Services Administration, and state Medicaid exclusion lists.
